FACTORIAN EDGE / FIELD NOTE

One device. Every machine. Infinite scale.

Whether you’re an OEM building smarter machines or an end user modernizing your plant floor, the Factorian Edge fits right in — the same box, the same framework, from a single panel to a whole plant.

01

For OEMs

Bundle the Factorian Edge directly with your process machine panels, and ship intelligence — not just iron.

  • Plug-and-play data acquisition — no custom integration on your end
  • Built-in historian and real-time trends, out of the box
  • Conversational AI so your customers can ask questions about their machine, in plain language
  • One compact, fanless, DIN-mountable device — easy to fit inside any panel

Give every customer a connected, data-ready machine from day one — and a reason to choose you over the competition.

Factorian Edge — hardware

Hardware and bundled software in a single fanless enclosure, built to live inside the panel it ships in.

Footprint 200 × 240 mm
Mounting DIN rail
Cooling Fanless
Sources OPC UA, Modbus, SCADA
02

For end users

Start with a single machine. Scale to your whole plant — same device, same framework, zero rearchitecting.

  • Connects to what you already have — PLCs, sensors, SCADA — no rip-and-replace
  • Stores time-series data with an open, scalable historian
  • Trends machine performance and KPIs in real time
  • Chats — ask plain-language questions and get instant answers on production, maintenance, or efficiency
The loop, once installed

Connect → Store → Trend → Chat. It runs continuously, on every node, whether it’s watching one machine or reporting up to a plant-wide data lake.

One machine or one hundred

The path is the same at every scale. A single Edge device clusters into a high-availability node group on one install; node groups link across stations into a federated, plant-wide network — without changing the underlying architecture.

Single machine → HA cluster, one install → Federated network, plant-wide
Within one install

A single Edge device is a fine starting point, but it’s also a single point of failure — if that node goes down, the historian and AI chat go with it. Add two more nodes to the same install and they form a self-syncing cluster: one active, two standby, all sharing a replicated historian over Raft consensus. A node can drop out and the machine never notices.

Across the plant

Every line keeps its own Edge node and its own local autonomy — nothing has to route through a central server to keep running. But each node also streams up to a federated layer that aggregates every line into one plant-wide historian, one set of cross-line KPIs, and one AI chat that can answer questions spanning the whole floor.
